Delivered as part of the seventh edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX), the Gala Dinner 2022 brought together international delegates, officials, and industry leaders for an evening of formal hospitality. Alongside the dinner, a Qatari village was created to introduce guests to local heritage and traditions within the event setting.

Research
The approach balanced two worlds a protocol-driven defence event and a cultural experience for a global audience. Consideration was given to how international guests engage with local culture, ensuring authenticity without disrupting the structure of a formal gathering.
Design
The environment combined a formal gala setting with a culturally rooted installation, where traditional elements, materials, and layouts reflected Qatari identity. The setup was designed to feel considered and accessible, rather than staged.
Development
AND Marketing & Events delivered the project from concept design through to build and execution, managing the gala environment alongside the development of the Qatari village. The result was a structured event with a clear cultural layer integrated into the overall experience.

Concept
The idea was to embed culture within the experience, rather than present it separately. The Qatari village became part of the evening itself allowing guests to move through and engage with elements of heritage in a natural way.
