High Tides Music Festival 2020 introduced Qatar’s first festival dedicated to Handpan, Ethnic Electronic, Tribal Folk, and Live Trance music. Conceptualised and delivered by AND Marketing & Events, the festival brought together internationally recognised artists and created a live music experience centred around alternative and immersive sound.

Research
The development process focused on understanding how alternative music communities experience live events differently from mainstream concert audiences. Attention was given to audience connection, pacing, and the role of atmosphere in shaping engagement particularly within music formats that rely on rhythm, improvisation, and longer immersive sets.
Design
The environment was shaped to support a more intimate connection between performers and audience, with lighting, stage positioning, and spatial layout focused on mood and continuity rather than spectacle alone.
Development
AND Marketing & Events managed the festival end-to-end, covering artist booking, programming, production, promotion, and on-ground execution. The event generated strong audience turnout and engagement, establishing High Tides as a distinctive addition to Qatar’s music and cultural landscape.
Concept
The idea was to create a festival that felt immersive where music, environment, and audience energy blend into a single experience. Instead of separating genres, the programming allowed different sounds and cultures to flow into one another naturally throughout the event.
